TTTI is now TechSmart Teachers!
Research proves that the single most important factor in the quality of education in any classroom is the quality of the teacher.
NEF believes that by providing professional development to our 1,000 teachers and school leaders, we can positively affect the quality of education given to our district's 11,000 children.
Begun in 1999 to help teachers integrate technology in their curriculum, TechSmart Teachers has provided 1,000 plus hours of sustained training to over 700 of the district's teachers and staff.
Working closely with curriculum developers, TechSmart Teachers classes are designed to reinforce the models being introduced throughout Norwalk as a result of School Superintendent Dr. Sal Corda's curriculum review.
Classes and workshops are offered throughout the year, free of charge, with CEU credit, to certified and non-certified staff in such programs as Microsoft Office, Web Design, Digital Imaging, Email and Internet Safety, to name a few.

The program objective is to expose, encourage, and empower girls. Historically, technology fields have appealed to a lower percentage of women than men and this project is designed to help redress the imbalance.
